Dear Burlingame Parents and Guardians:
As a school district, Burlingame has prided itself on providing transportation to all of its students no matter the distance the family lives from the school. Unfortunately, we are experiencing an extreme shortage in bus drivers.
Due to this shortage, we will be unable to transport students who live within the city limits, excluding licensed daycare facilities. Technically, school districts can only be reimbursed to transport students who live two and a half miles from the school building or farther, so we have been providing and paying for a service that has not been required of us over the past few years in an effort to provide transportation services to our families.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience. Should circumstances change, the administration will review this decision and assess if transportation services can be reinstated.
